This is just a post to inform people on what's going on staff-side on Artex.
✔ World-Z Server Added
Although the Proxy Server was lost, we are able to host World-Z on a different server. The map and lobby still need to be worked on, and the plugins need to be tuned.
✔ Towny is Live
Towny is now fully-released. Minus the guides, it has a fully working shop, town system, and some cool donor features like selling away from the show with /sell hand/inventory.
✔ Site Progress
The current site isn't updated and I am currently working on V2 of the Artex Website. It still has a way to go, but the design is down-pact.
✖ Lost the Proxy Server
This is a huge drawback because we added a new server to host World-Z. The Proxy Server allows a player to connect to a different server while in one.
A little note to players and the Artex Community:
We have come across people who have their own server via hosting. Majority of these servers are low-key and due to the amount, struggle to be popular and gain a playerbase. Recently, staff have been talking to some of these people.
We ask because we need temporary servers. These would be used until we gain a larger playerbase, which leads to donors. We ask for usage because we want to start sub-dividing the server where each game has it's own server. Unless we start paying for more servers, it's hard to get started. While it make make Artex look like a tool, abusing players, we look at it like we are helping other players. Because I want this server-network to be by players, for players, the people who allow us to "rent" their server is helping this community. It's no different than them buying a rank.
While it seems like it's easy to start a server, just look at ours and you'll see that it is hard to gain players. Thus, we will reward anyone who helps the server. Math just has a Sponcer rank worked out, I'm looking at Donor or Staff ranks, seeing that you can run/manage a server with commands, etc.
I just ask that instead of you attempting to start a small server, try helping another one to get far, because in the end, there is more support on your shoulder having staff and a bit of players, than having none at all.
